SNO CRUISERS MEETING MINUTES January 4th, 2012 Meeting called to order by President Scott Lipa Secretary's report approved as written Treasurer's report approved for audit. OLD BUSINESS: -MnUSA Calendars: Paperwork submitted and check received. Treasurer paid ACSA & Blue Ribbon memberships. -Winter Rendezvous silent auction: Nothing to report. Bob & Paul waiting for sales before making purchases. -Blue Smoke Vintage Show & Ride: Will meet with Mayor next Tuesday to determine if ride will still take place due to lack of snow. Arlyss commented the posters were excellent. Proceeds from sale of food sold will go to Youth 1st. Bob still needs volunteers for parking cars, help inside and out. Break: Tom won Raffle NEW BUSINESS -1st Club Ride: Cancelled due to lack of snow for season. -2nd Club Ride: Paul Chair-Wabasha area, dates set for January 27th-29th 2012 in Wabasha. The AmericInn room rate for 2 queen beds/room is $109.00/night. Sign up sheet at meeting, no rooms blocked, and not sure if MnUSA Business member. (Lack of snow will determine outcome.) -3rd Club Ride: Dan Chair-Marcel area, dates set for February 18th-20th 2012. The Arcadia Lodge has cabin booked which holds 20-26. Deposit sent in, depending on how many attend the rate could be set at $35.00/night -Bob motioned we donate $100.00 towards the Veterans Ride. Seconded by Lance; discussion, vote taken, motion passed. -Scott mentioned: Article in the Herald Review recognizing the Sno Cruiser's donation for the Drift Skippers Christmas Party. (Article presented at meeting) Recent MnUSA Magazine: Had an article which mentioned Northway Sports Open House and the Coon Rapids Sno Cruisers promoting clubs and snowmobiling in Minnesota. Treasurer's report approved for audit. OLD BUSINESS: -Blue Ribbon Coalition: We received card confirming the club has membership. Scott mentioned individuals can join for $15.00. -Winter Rendezvous silent auction: Bob /Paul purchased a KLM XL Jacket for the auction and spent whole budget for item. -Blue Smoke Vintage Show & Ride: Mayor's Ride cancelled and moved to February 11th tentatively depending on weather. Parking to start at 8:00, registration opens at 8:30, food concessions at 10:30, and judging starts at 2:00, with awards presented at 3:00. Thank you to Bob/Paul/Chuck/Tom for organizing this event. Break: Paul won Raffle NEW BUSINESS -Pink Ribbon Riders: You can Vote for the Pink Ribbon Riders to win the Pink Well Grant. Voting starts Jan. 16th until May 2012. Go to www.pinkwell.org -MnUSA E-Mail Update: Veteran's Ride has been postponed to January 21st if weather permits. Mentioned the State Wide Trail Stop and you can nominate dealer or family of the year. -Blue Ribbon Coalition: Scott to send e-mail regarding concerns of losing funds and contacting your local senator. US Forest Service-plans for up coming year and how this will have a far-reaching affect on recreation and planning for decades to come. -2nd Club Ride: Cancelled due to lack of snow for season. -3rd Club Ride: Dan Chair-No snow yet! Sign up sheet available. -Bob said since the above cabin facility will be used no matter what, the club should use this as time to get together have fun and hang out. -Ride reports: Dan/Deb ventured to Crooked Lake, road about 110 miles utilizing forestry roads. There was a lot of ice fishing going on in the area. Paul was in Hayward WI - seemed like there were about a 1,000 sleds out, lakes were good, ditches OK, and trails were groomed but beat up, only road about 50 miles. Bob/Paul headed out for Pine City (Cross Lake) Bob filled oil and gas in his new sled but when they got there no snow to mention and mostly glare ice. Went to bar then headed home. -Marc motioned Scott Lipa take over Treasure's duties for remainder of her term; since her baby is due next week. Seconded by Paul; Discussion, vote taken, motion passed. Larry made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Barry.
